bristles

Hi Everyone!

Just look at it…my embarrassing toothbrush I use for cleaning tile grout in my kitchen….all those grease stains that get caught between the tiles above the stove….embarrassing, I tell you. And I clean the back splash every time I cook! So now, what am I going to do with this awful stickiness on the toothbrush? Well, I’m not going to throw it out because I’d need a factory of toothbrushes for my kitchen (the whole thing is tiled!…that’s how they used to make homes in Sicily a long time ago..) So I thought, VINEGAR! I use it to clean everything….I love the stuff. I even do a 50\50 ratio of vinegar to water and keep it in a travel size spray bottle in my purse to use as disinfectant for our hands before we eat when we are out dining. Anyway, back to bristles….so I grabbed my beloved vinegar and filled a plastic cup with a 50\50 ratio of WARM vinegar to baking soda….boy was it erupting like a volcano!….and stuck my brush in. a couple of hours later….look at it! Just look at it! So clean I could use it to brush my teeth...but I won’t, don’t worry. I didn’t have to do anything except rinse it under running water. Now, I’m curious if this will work for my nasty, I mean nasty, broom bristles? So try it and let me know how it works for you. I don’t know if it will work on all types of bristles, but we’ll have to try as we go along. For now, it worked on coated bristles like toothbrushes.
