Hi everyone!
About a week ago, we were with my in-laws at their country home for lunch. While there, we discovered that they have several wild blackberry bushes. So since my husband and I love berry jams, I thought I would turn these tiny blackberries, called “more” (pronounced “mo-reh”) in Italian, into yummy jam. It’s simple and can be done with any type of blackberries you have growing or available where you live. All you need is….
– 2 cups of blackberries (….washed just before you are ready to make jam)
– 1 cup of sugar (….or more if you like jam ultra sweet)
– 1 Tbsp of fresh lemon juice
In a pot, place the blackberries, sugar and lemon juice. Stir gently.
Next, add about 1 cup of water and over low heat (uncovered), simmer until the water is significantly reduced and jam becomes syrup like in consistency.
Turn off the flame and pour, while hot, into a glass jar (uncovered) to cool down. When completely cool, cover and store in the refrigerator. It’s delicious with toast on cream cheese. Mmmmmmm….
Happy jam making!
