Hi all!
Last weekend, my husband and I took our 5 month old daughter for a nice stroll along the beach here in Sicily. We went to Marina di Ragusa (see my “Travel \ Life in Italy” section to know more about the local areas) and happened to choose this ristorante to dine at. We were nice and hungry and of course with a lot of places to eat along the promenade, how can you tell what’s a good place? Even if you are a local, as we are. So we stumbled along and chose “Quattro Quarti”. Result? Delizioso! Imagining how difficult it would be for a typical tourist to find a good place to eat, I decided to add this wonderful ristorante to my Eye on Sicily – Local Businesses Tried and True for Travellers section.
Now, their speciality is fish. We ordered your typical Sicilian dish of mussels in tomato sauce (my new E-cookbook has a similar recipe for this) known to many as “Zuppa di Cozze” served alongside fresh Italian bread…oh my, delicious beyond words! We also ordered pasta with cooked pieces of mixed fish, including shrimps, calamari, squid, mussels, and clams, also known as “Spaghetti Misto Pesce”….also delicious.
Portions were generous and the atmosphere was perfect…just a few yards from the beach! In the summer, they place tables outside so you can enjoy outdoor dining. Even our 5 month old had fun and started “singing” (she makes one steady long sound) as she liked the signora who was talking to her from the table right next to ours =) So when in Ragusa, make your way to the beach,”Marina di Ragusa” and enjoy a wonderful summer’s eve dinner at Quattro Quarti!
