Last week I was up early one morning after feeding our 5 month old, and wanted to make something sweet and easy for breakfast. My husband and I usually have something sweet with our cappuccinos…spoiled, I know!…..and so I remembered I had some puff pastry in the fridge. Puff pastry, puff pastry….fruit? fruit!…cream cheese? cream cheese!….voilà!….a super easy and delicious tart!
What you need:
-1 package of puff pastry (ready made \ store bought….I usually love to do everything home made, but time consuming puff pastry isn’t one of them! =P
-1 cup of fresh fruit (cubed) or jam or both!
-1 cup of cream cheese
Here’s how you assemble the tart:
So simple. Just roll out the puff pastry, spread the cream cheese followed by either your jam, fresh fruit or both (like I did!…I had some home made fig jam and some fresh peaches I cubed up).
Roll up the puff pastry however you like. I just rolled up the two sides towards the center and pinched the ends closed.
Bake at 180 C \ 350 F for about 30-40 min or until golden brown. Delizioso! =)
