One of things I love most about summer is ice cream. Not that I eat a lot of it, but yummy, creamy, gooey, tasty, ice cream is just heaven when it’s hot! =) Here in Italy, gelato (ice cream) from a gelateria (ice cream parlor) is so good that I can’t even bring myself to buy the processed stuff from the store! So what do I do if I’m craving ice cream and can’t run to the nearest gelateria?…..because it’s like 11:00 at night? =D…….I make yogurt and fruit popsicles at home! It’s so simple, easy, and all natural that you will be tempted to try making more flavors!

I usually choose bananas….but you can make it with strawberries, blueberries, peaches, etc…..any fresh fruit you have! If you like, you can even include chopped nuts =)

Ingredients:

– 1 cup of creamy yogurt (I use low fat but you can use whatever you prefer)

– 2 TBSP brown cane (demerara) sugar….it makes all the difference, trust me!

– 1 banana or 1 cup of any other fresh fruit you wish to add

Place all ingredients in a mini food processor or blender and blend well. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze. I use popsicle molds I bought from IKEA…..

That’s it! Simple, all natural and healthy…..your family will love them. So try it and let me know what you think!

Happy popsicle making,

Wanita =)
